Church Chat

Tonight at church we talked about how "the church" is the Bride of Christ and how we should not put it down in anyway. One of our Pastors talked about those things in life that are worth fighting for. He said if you made a bad/false comment about his wife, he would fight with you over it. And that this is how Jesus feels when we put down his "bride". He also told us it's not our place to put down or judge other churches by petty things like what they wear or the type of music they play.
Then we went on to discuss how we need to do things ourselves as believers in Christ and not wait for the church to come up with ideas, but rather to go out and do things on our own to help those in need in our community. Some members of our church took it upon themselves to start a group that goes to our Salvation Army and cooks meals for those who are hungry. And another group decided to take rubbermaid tubs to our local churches asking for canned goods to keep one of our drug rehabs going. Good things are happening.

*And Pebbles played and played!!!

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

After leaving me a comment, tell me what you are fixing or picking up for dinner tonight. I'm looking for some ideas and thought it would be fun to hear what you are having.

Church Chat

Here in the past couple of weeks I am really getting into and loving my church, more than ever. We have been going there about 3 years or so and I have always looked forward to going...never dreading it. I think it's due to the fact that they truly let you be yourself and do not put on a facade in any way. The music is very contemporary with a few old hymns thrown in from time to time. Our pastor wants to be called by his name "Scott" and not Pastor. He says he is one of us, our friend and our teacher. He is 71 years old and a very intelligent man who preaches strictly by the Word. I feel I've been learning a lot these days.

And as for Pebbles and the nursery, she loves it! That's all she talks about all week. She says "dance, play, kids" and that means church! I'm so thankful to have a place where she can go and play with others her own age. Tonight when we took her in she pointed at a little girl and said, "pretty"...I was so proud. :)

I'm ready to spring up!

CHURCH CHAT

Last Sunday at church we were talking about the day of judgement. There will come the day when we will stand before God and be judged for our time here on earth. It really made me realize that I still have some changes to make in my life and habits to break of judging.

Romans 14:10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

<< Matthew 7 >>

1 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2 “For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.

My Posse

THE BLOGGERS PRAYER

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck,
manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly -
all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house
and take care of my family.
Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life.
And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.
