Martha~would I be like her?

The story of Mary and Martha. Do you know it? You can read it for yourself in Luke 10:38 – 42. It is a story that illustrates two sisters with different approaches to life. One is Mary who was pleased to sit at Jesus' feet and listen to all He would say, and Martha who was busy with the preparations needed to serve a crowd of people.

Luke 10:38-42 (New International Version)

At the Home of Martha and Mary
38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

I always think what would I do if I knew Jesus was coming for a visit? Sad, but my first though as a woman is to clean and make the house spotless. Make the best meal I possibly could and oh...where's my bible? Uh, He knows exactly where I left it.
This is such great scripture for us as women to study and realize it's the quality time we spend with each other that's important and not to worry about what the other person is doing or "not" doing.

My Posse

THE BLOGGERS PRAYER

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck,
manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly -
all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house
and take care of my family.
Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life.
And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.
