Sundays at Grandma's

Do you all remember when Sunday's were all about family? Most families I knew growing up would head over their Grandparent's house for Sunday dinner at 1:00 usually following church. It was always fun being in their home. Afghans hanging on the couch and the smell of country cooking on the stove. My brother and I would find something to get into while the adults talked politics etc.
When did this stop? Or does your family continue to do this or...did you ever? Seems as if we have gotten too busy or is it that we are out of touch with people. We text, and facebook etc. but rarely seem to find the time to sit down face to face and look one another in the eye and have a real life conversation.

I miss those days so much!! We spent Sunday at my Grandmother's house when I was a kid. I miss it. I miss her.

Growing up we lived 5 hrs from our grandparents so Sundays at Grandma's wasn't a reality. We did typically have a relaxing afternoon at home after church tough. And now, we typically keep Sundays low key as well. We have church in the morning and evening and typically nap or rest or read or play in the afternoon. During the summer when we don't have church in the evening, we often go fishing or to the park.

My Posse

THE BLOGGERS PRAYER

Lord help me to learn to spell without spellcheck,
manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly -
all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house
and take care of my family.
Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life.
And help me dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.
